The Janes represented well at the 20th Annual Brea 8k this past Sunday. Sarah Montez (29:16) was the first Jane and second overall woman followed closely by Kirsten Leetch (3rd woman, 29:20) and Tania Fischer (4th woman, 29:24). Emily Mitchell (29:43) was sixth overall, Adrienne Schumm (30:06) was ninth and Jenna Dee (31:21) was sixteenth . Cheryl Smith of Laguna Beach was the overall winner running 27:47 over the hilly 8k course.
The Janes also won the team race in the Southern California Road Racing Grand Prix Series but is still second overall to the Club Ed Running Club.
Next up for the Janes – the Oxy Distance Carnival at Occidental College on Friday, March 11. Tania Fischer, Sarah Montez and Kirsten Leetch will run the 5000 meters.
