Erika Aklufi, Cambria Wu, Colleen Joyce and Kim Ramirez ran in the UC Irvine Invitational this past weekend. Erika won the “B” race in a time of 17:46.3 with Cambria running third in a time of 18:24.1, Colleen 11th at 18:51.9 and Kimmy running 41st in 19:48.0. If the Janes had one more teammate, they would have won the race.
Erika went out from the start and took command of the race running solo over much of the course. Cambria and Colleen followed in the chase pack and fought off a group of college women to prevail.
The course was run over the beautiful remodeled UC Irvine athletic facilities. It was mostly flat run over grass, gravel paths and cement. There was a gradual hill about half way through the course.
